As is traditional every year in Barcelona, the 48H Open House is held to showcase the architecture of the buildings of the Catalan capital.
In the 2022 version, the event has 210 spaces open to the public and 25 different itineraries. Several tours of residences, estates and homes are scheduled for the weekend of October 22 and 23, 2022.
If you are a lover of the world of architecture and everything related to this craft, it will be the perfect setting to appreciate how to create spaces in perfect synergy with the environment.
48H Open House calls for volunteer architects
This great festival would not be the same without the volunteers. In fact, they have called for architecture enthusiasts, whether they are students, teachers or interested people, to voluntarily support the 48h Open House Barcelona.
If you want, you can apply for any of the roles: support the management of the festival or contribute to the tour guides and tours, among others that you can sign up for. Among the advantages offered by the organizers to volunteers are:
- Advantages to gain access to visits to the buildings participating in the festival.
- Obtain a certificate that accredits you as a participant of an international event and exchange.
- If you are a university student, you can have an optional ECTS credit if the university where you study is a partner of the event.
- You will be able to include your collaboration in the festival as a volunteer in the LinkedIn network.

The scope of volunteering
Participate in the 48H Open House BCN as a volunteer, is to be part of the Open House family in order to support the initiative to bring citizens closer to the world of architecture.
The event is made possible thanks to the support of more than a thousand volunteers who collaborate in the organization of more than 150 activities.
In total, it is estimated that around one thousand volunteers gather for each event to carry out activities such as the opening of buildings or the realization of itineraries. They also help guide the activities, visits and events that take place.

All you need is a passion for this project, a strong desire to contribute and learn, and the availability of a few hours of your time.
