The transformation of Torre Baró is progressing with the creation of a new viewpoint between Sant Feliu de Codines and Prats de Rei streets. This project, financed by the Pla de Barris de la Zona Nord with a budget of 713,854 euros, seeks to improve the natural and urban environment of this emblematic area of Barcelona.
A space to connect with nature
The area in question, which covers 2,010 square meters, is located in the vicinity of the Collserola park, which makes it an area of great ecological value. For this reason, the works will respect the existing topography and will focus on giving it a renaturalized character. This means that work will be done to preserve the existing vegetation and, at the same time, introduce new trees and green spaces. The main objective is to create a balance between urban functionality and respect for the environment. The project includes the installation of street furniture, street lighting and seating areas to encourage community interaction.
Key changes in mobility and parking
One of the most important actions will be the reorganization of the space for vehicles and pedestrians. Prats de Rei street will become a single platform, with clearly delimited parking spaces. The aim is to improve mobility and avoid parking in areas that have not been designated, which until now generated disorder and hindered pedestrian traffic. In addition, the creation of a new viewpoint will be a meeting point for neighbors, with privileged views of the natural environment. This space will not only be used for rest, but will also be designed for outdoor activities and community meetings.
Comprehensive renovation for a degraded environment
The current state of the slopes and platforms in the area show signs of deterioration, with degraded and unstable areas. The works, which will last four months, include interventions to stabilize these elements and restore the land. The combination of structural improvements and vegetation will revitalize the space and provide a safer and more attractive place for residents.
An investment with local impact
The project, funded by the Pla de Barris de la Zona Nord, aims not only to improve the quality of the environment, but also to foster a sense of community in Torre Baró. These investments, aimed at less developed areas, are key to reducing inequalities and providing quality spaces for all. The inclusion of more trees and green spaces also contributes to Barcelona’s commitment to sustainability. Every element of the design has been designed to integrate with the natural landscape and improve the neighborhood’s connection to the Collserola park.
Benefits for the future
When the work is completed, residents will be able to enjoy a renovated environment that combines nature, functionality and community. This viewpoint will not only be a landmark, but also a symbol of the city’s commitment to improving life in its neighborhoods. This project not only renews the physical space, but also strengthens the bond between neighbors and their environment, promoting a more sustainable lifestyle connected to nature.
