Os Bicos is located in Zona Franca, Barcelona. A cozy restaurant with a homemade and delicious Galician cuisine. It has a familiar and cozy atmosphere, perfect to come with friends or family. It is a small part of Galicia in the heart of Barcelona.
Until April 2023, Os Bicos was called Bar Restaurante Ismael 2 and, although the name has changed, the quality of its dishes has not. This change was due to the economic crisis derived from the pandemic, when the new generation of the family business decided to give it a new identity, but without changing the soul of the restaurant.
In this sense, Os Bicos means “The Kisses” in Galician.
The house charter
What people who come to eat at Os Bicos emphasize is the quality-price ratio and, above all, they praise the abundant portions. But, don’t worry, they also have half portions. And, if you are undecided when ordering, they also have a menu for 4 people for 55 € / person that includes starters, seafood, main course, drinks (including albariño wine) and homemade dessert. Most of the latter are made by them, such as the cheesecake (and it looks great).
They have a varied menu, but the specialty of the restaurant is the seafood, since all the ingredients they use are fresh, of high quality and, obviously, Galician. And, we cannot forget the Iberian ham, which is also delicious. In addition, the menu also includes snails that are served “with a show”, that is to say, they add cognac and set fire to them. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
They also focus on homemade food and some of the fresh products of the day that they use in their dishes are: oysters, mussels, clams, fish and razor clams.
Here’s a tip: if you want to go on the weekend, reservations are recommended because it gets crowded and you may run out of tables.
Back to the origin
More than 20 years ago, a family undertook the project of creating a Galician family bar with a cuisine reminiscent of grandma’s cooking.
Then, as time has gone by, they have created a family restaurant in a simple neighborhood. This is based on the idea of tapas with high quality Galician products to bring Galician gastronomy to Barcelona and has a unique atmosphere and product.
