In a night full of emotions and memories, Alejandro Sanz said goodbye to Barcelona with an anthological concert at the Palau Sant Jordi, marking the closing of his “Sanz en vivo” tour.
This masterful show, the first of two farewell concerts, was a journey through 30 years of musical career that left fans completely engaged.
After two consecutive years on stage and with all the tickets sold out, the charismatic singer from Madrid shared “one last moment” with his fans in Barcelona and will do it again in Madrid on December 15.
For more than two hours, Sanz played a selection of his greatest hits, from “Corazón partío” to “Amiga mía”, “Cuando nadie me ve” and “El alma en el aire”.
Alejandro Sanz and the magic of Sant Jordi
The Palau Sant Jordi witnessed a unique evening, where the connection between Sanz and his audience reached its peak. From emotional ballads to vibrant rhythms, each song resonated with the light of the cell phone flashlights that accompanied the attendees.
It was a heartfelt tribute to Barcelona, with Sanz expressing a resounding “Visca Barcelona” as he began his performance with the iconic song “No es lo mismo”.
Between the melodic ballads and the more upbeat moments, the audience was completely devoted to Alejandro Sanz’s musical experience.
The apex of the night came with the performance of “Corazón partío”, a song that, even after almost 30 years since its release, remains one of the artist’s most iconic.
After the end of the performance, Sanz showed a flag, closing the Barcelona cycle with an emotional touch.
Anniversary and farewell
The audience also surprised the singer by singing “el cumpleaños feliz” (happy birthday) in anticipation of Alejandro Sanz’s 55th birthday on December 18.
These concerts in Barcelona and Madrid mark numbers 99 and 100 of the “Sanz en vivo” tour, which began in October 2021 in the United States and has toured cities in Latin America, Spain and the United States. More than one million spectators have witnessed this spectacle celebrating Sanz’s extensive career.
The final farewell of “Sanz en vivo” will be on December 15 at the WiZink Center in Madrid. It will be a last chance to experience the magic of Alejandro Sanz live, culminating a long but significant stage in the artist’s life.
Overcoming obstacles
Despite the mental health challenges Alejandro Sanz has faced and shared publicly, the artist did not stop his tour. However, the warmth and support of the public led him to offer these two additional concerts, not initially scheduled, to close this chapter in his career.
