In the city of Cornellá, on May 20 and 21, 2023, the third edition of the championship of dancing with Arcade machines will take place.
A tournament that has managed to capture the attention of Arcade game lovers all over Europe, thanks to its organizers, the Associació per a la Restauració i Conservació d’Arcades i altres Dispositius d’Entreteniment, ARCADE.
The competition will feature Spanish, French, Swiss, Dutch and English contestants, who will face off in an exciting dance battle.
With these events, the iconic decades of the 70s, 80s and 90s are experiencing a resurgence in which some of their most prominent elements have now become the protagonists of their own revival.
A perfect example of this is the revival of classic games such as dancing with machines, Pacman, Pinball or Arcade Space Invaders.
Arcade dance championship: the nostalgic event you were waiting for
The star machines of this championship are the famous Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up and Dance Rush.
These machines, known for their boards with arrows that tell you how to move to the rhythm of the music, have become symbols of fun and challenge.
Its simple appearance can be deceiving at first glance, as the game requires a combination of technique and precise movements that will test your skills.
The ARCADE association has prepared this inclusive event, where both professionals and amateurs can participate and enjoy the competition.
Each machine will have two levels: one for the more experienced players and one for those who are just starting out in the world of arcade dancing.
The objective is to bring this fascinating universe closer to everyone, regardless of their level of experience.
Throughout the championship, attendees will have the opportunity to try out other dance machines available at the venue, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the retro atmosphere of arcade games.
An international competition
One of the particularities of this championship is its international focus.
The dance machines used in the tournament have been imported from Japan, which can be a barrier for those who do not speak the language.
However, ARCADE members will be present throughout the day, assisting and teaching those who wish to enter this exciting world.
In addition, the event will have a giant screen where the choreographies will be projected in real time, allowing all attendees to follow and cheer on the participants as if they were at the final of a famous dance show.
The ARCADE association has managed to become a reference for arcade and arcade game lovers.
