Barcelona is preparing to celebrate Architecture Weeks 2024, an event that will take place from May 14 to June 28, 2024.
It promises to offer a wide-ranging program over seven weeks, with the aim of promoting the dissemination of architectural activity, fostering knowledge, experience and debate among citizens.
Architecture Weeks, which have become an annual tradition since 2017, represent a fundamental link between architecture and citizenship.
In this edition, the event is extended over seven weeks to allow the participation of a greater number of entities and to promote the dissemination of architectural activity throughout the city.
The Architecture Weeks are an initiative open to the presence and collaboration of various entities dedicated to the dissemination of architecture, as well as representatives of different social, cultural and artistic disciplines.
Throughout the different editions, more than a hundred institutions, associations and expert personalities have actively contributed to bring architecture closer to the citizens and to discover new spaces and transformations in the city.
Participate in Architecture Weeks 2024
After Architecture Weeks 2024, Barcelona will be transformed into an “architectural research laboratory” until 2026. This project, entitled ‘Becoming, architectures for a planet in transition’, will analyze the ability to transform reality through architecture.
The World Congress of Architecture of the International Union of Architects (UIA), to be held in 2026, will present the results of this research and will seek to generate knowledge and practices that have a real impact on people’s daily lives.
The Architectural Congress will not only be of utmost relevance and interest to the global architectural community, but will also serve as a space for professional dialogue and collaboration.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the current challenges facing the discipline and to share knowledge and experiences that contribute to the advancement of architecture worldwide.
