Because of this drought situation, if you are going to use the city beaches, please note that only one shower per beach will be available.
The measure prohibiting smoking and the consumption of nicotine-releasing products has also been strengthened. All in order to preserve the health of bathers and pedestrians, as well as to keep the area clean.
Shower use is limited during the middle beach season
These measures will be applicable during the so-called medium beach season, which is active from April 1 to 10, weekends in April and May and until September 18 to 25.
During this period, bathers will be able to enjoy the services of 60 lifeguards and 21 watchtowers, public toilets, beach bars with sun loungers and umbrellas.
There will also be beach cleanups and a center with free activities and awareness actions.
It is important to note that the restriction on the use of showers does not imply that bathers should stop taking a shower after a swim in the sea.
On the contrary, it is essential to maintain proper personal hygiene, especially at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is still present.
Likewise, information panels will be activated where users will be able to consult the state of the sea, the color of the flags, the quality of the water, the temperature and the presence of jellyfish, among other aspects.
There will be areas set aside for outdoor sports. Water sports such as paddle surfing, windsurfing and surfing are permitted outside the bathing area.
Recreational fishing will be allowed on all beaches between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. the following day and from 7:00 p.m. on Barceloneta beach.
In addition, the dog beach will be 20% larger and will have capacity for 120 dogs.
