Regent Shipping has taken a bold step with the inauguration of its latest flagship, the Seven Seas Grandeur. This majestic ship has marked its entry into the cruise scene with a transoceanic voyage connecting the two main cruise ports of the world: Barcelona – Miami.
The new ship made its first stop in the Catalan port, where more than 500 passengers, mostly Americans, boarded eager to experience the ultimate luxury on the high seas.
Regent Cruises’ history dates back to the early 1990s, when it was born as Radisson Seven Seas Cruises following the merger of two small shipping companies. Initially owned by Carlson, the company that also managed Radisson hotels and the TGI Fridays restaurant chain, Regent retained its original name until 2006.
In that year, the shipping line embarked on a process of exclusive specialization in the maritime sector, and subsequently became part of the Norwegian Cruise Line group.
Barcelona-Miami : super luxury on board
Regent Cruises has been dedicated to offering super luxury on each of its six ships, and the Seven Seas Grandeur is no exception. With a crew-to-passenger ratio that defines the standard of luxury, the ship provides exceptional service.
With a length of 224 meters, the Grandeur accommodates a maximum of 746 guests, served by an almost equivalent crew of 548 professionals, most of them dedicated to direct guest service.
The jewel in the crown is the impressive Regent Suite, a masterpiece of more than 400 square meters located at the bow of the ship.
Priced at €11,000 per night of travel, this suite offers an unparalleled experience, with a master bedroom equipped with a $200,000 Hästen Vividus mattress, a private spa with sauna and steam bath, and a 120-square-meter balcony with Jacuzzi.
Gastronomic experience
The commitment to excellence extends to the onboard dining experience. Regent prides itself on its culinary program, Epicurean Perfection, which is implemented in eight different areas of the ship.
With five specialty restaurants included in the ticket price and the creation of 130 new dishes exclusive to the Grandeur, the culinary offer is a delight for the most demanding palates.
Art in the sea
The Seven Seas Grandeur is home to a multi-million dollar collection of contemporary art, with a total of 1,600 pieces carefully selected and displayed throughout the ship. From the Regent Suite to the restaurants, lounges and common areas, art is an integral part of the onboard experience.
The Art Experience, available through Regent’s mobile app, allows passengers to immerse themselves in an immersive and interactive experience, connecting with the artworks and artists.
Among the featured pieces is a Fabergé egg.
