The City of Barcelona took on the task of reviving the Barcelona Restoration Awards in its 2022 version. For this year they will compete for the title of being one of the best restaurants in the city in some of the award categories.
For this third edition, 30 venues representing the 10 districts of the capital have already registered. The objective of the Barcelona City Council with the call is to recover the tradition of the award.
The competition categories are:
- Gastronomic quality offered
- Well-known or innovative locale either by concept or trajectory
- integration in the neighborhood
- Sustainability Award

The Barcelona Restoration Awards
The contest recorded its beginnings in 2016. But in the face of the pandemic and confinement, it has not been possible to celebrate with continuity. The objective this year is to resume the initiative.
Among the participants are iconic places such as the Versailles bar in the neighborhood of Sant Andreu del Palomar with 100 years of history and favorite place of the Catalan bourgeoisie of the time.
The winners will be announced at the gala to be held on July 18 at the Fàbrica Moritz. The initiative is part of the government’s measures to support and promote local initiatives in the field of gastronomy.
Among the jurors will be professionals with knowledge of the sector, chaired by the councilor of Commerce, Montse Ballarín and other personalities. Among them, the director of Trade Services, Restoration and Consumption of the consistory; the president of the Gremi de Restauració and the president of the Associació de Restaurants Sostenibles, among others.
