Due to the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the direct effects of the increase in costs will also affect parking rates in Barcelona.
In this regard, the City Council approved a revision of these rates according to the CPI of Catalonia, which suffered a variation of 5.9%.
As a result, parking fees in Barcelona will be affected by the increase in the CPI.
The revision of prices will be made for directly managed parking lots and for municipal concession parking lots.
Therefore, the most affected parking lots will be those that are part of the B:SM network, as well as those that operate under the Saba Barcelona and BAMSA brands, as well as others belonging to the Barcelona City Council.

By regulation of the Safety and Mobility Commission, a review of rates and price ceilings has been carried out every six months since 2007.
Although the council insists that maximum values were approved based on the CPI, each operator will have to decide what price increase it will make taking into account this margin and the rates it currently manages.
Up to the current date, the maximum rate increase reached 0.052627 euros per minute, to which VAT is also added.
Rising prices and rising cost of living worry Barcelona residents
For its part, the Municipal Services Survey 2022 shows that the people of Barcelona are concerned about economic problems.
In fact, 13.8% of respondents (the highest figure since 2014), said they were experiencing serious financial problems.
And all due to the sharp rise in prices caused by inflation, a direct consequence of the current international scenario in an environment of war that causes generalized inflation and higher prices for basic services.
The Municipal Services Survey is a tool that the Barcelona City Council has been applying since 1985, in order to gather the opinion of the citizens on relevant aspects of the neighborhood, the city and municipal management.
It is based on the application of six thousand face-to-face interviews with people over 18 years of age.
However, despite the situation, respondents rated their level of satisfaction with living in Barcelona at 7.4, despite inflation issues.
The issues that do top the list of problems are insecurity and the cleanliness of the city. Next in importance are access to housing and environmental pollution.
This year the survey showed that the main concern at a personal level is inflation and the crisis situation, as well as the global impoverishment caused by the increase in the prices of basic goods and services.
