The summer of 2024 promises to bring an exciting new development for residents and visitors to Barcelona with the opening of Bastian Beach, the city’s first major beach club.
Located on the iconic Platja de Sant Sebastià, the leisure and restaurant complex is being developed by the renowned Costa Este group and is expected to become a world reference in its category.
This ambitious project, covering an area of 5,000 square meters, is scheduled to open in June, just in time for the America’s Cup.
The Bastian Beach is not just another beachfront establishment; it is a work of great proportions that is transforming the physiognomy of Barceloneta. The complex is located on the grounds of the Club Natació Barcelona (CNB), a century-old venue that is being modernized and renovated as part of the project.
With an investment of 15 million euros, the works are progressing at a good pace, boosted by the proximity of the prestigious sailing competition.
Facilities and attractions of the first large beach club in Barcelona
The Bastian Beach is shaping up to be a luxury resort that will include multiple facilities designed to offer a complete and exclusive experience:
- Pool area: The central area of the beach club will be dominated by a large pool area surrounded by sun loungers and Balinese beds. This space will also have chill out areas, puffs, and bars that will serve a varied informal menu. All this will be enlivened by the music of a resident DJ.
- Restaurants: The complex will house three restaurants, each with its own gastronomic proposal. The main restaurant, located on the first floor and overlooking the sea, will specialize in Mediterranean cuisine, with a special emphasis on rice dishes and fresh fish. Another dining establishment will be located on the rooftop, offering cocktails and a unique gastronomic proposal along with panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
- Rooftop and VIP Spaces: The rooftop of the building, with direct sea views, will be a privileged place to enjoy the America’s Cup. Although the opening of this area is planned for a later date, it will be ready before the start of the competition at the end of August. In addition, the complex will offer VIP areas with exclusive access, designed for those seeking an even more personalized experience.
A strategic and sustainable investment
The Bastian Beach project is the result of a shared vision between the CNB and Costa Este. After a previous deal with British investor Green Track fell through, CNB partnered with Costa Este, which already has a strong nightlife presence in Barcelona and other cities such as Madrid and Marbella.
This collaboration has not only allowed the creation of the beach club, but also the modernization of the CNB facilities.
