One of the great attractions and charms of Barcelona is undoubtedly its beaches. And for some years now, choosing to enjoy a day at the beach in Barcelona has had an added attraction: books, reading and libraries that are installed in summer on two of the city’s beaches.

Novels, national and foreign literature, comics, children’s books, press, etc. In addition, since 2012, the biblioplayas also offer recreational and sports equipment (balls, rackets, buckets, rakes…).
Where can you find the ‘biblioplayas’?
Bac de Roda and the Beach Center are two of the most popular beaches and also the ones chosen by the Barcelona City Council to install the ‘biblioplayas’.
In Bac de Roda, users will be able to enjoy the provision of books from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, every day until August 31. At the Beach Center, the hours are from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday, until August 30. In addition, this beach also organizes various courses and workshops on different themes: cooking, kite flying, kites and even offers WiFi to users.
Of course, this service managed by the Department of Environment and Urban Services of the Barcelona City Council, allows you to enjoy the beach in a totally different and very enriching way.
