Business leaders present at Esade Alumni's annual conference

Esade Alumni, the Esade alumni association, has held its annual conference with the outstanding participation of business leaders.

Each year this event is characterized by recognizing personalities whose values are aligned with the institution and its commitment to generate a positive impact on organizations and society in general.

In this edition, the Esade 2023 Award was presented to Gonzalo Gortázar, CEO of CaixaBank, in recognition of his responsible leadership and his drive towards a more sustainable economy.

Under the slogan “Leading for Impact”, the annual Esade Alumni conference was held at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) and was attended by around 1,000 alumni.

This event has become a meeting point for generations of professionals who share the educational experience at Esade.

Business leaders at Esade Alumni

One of the outstanding testimonials comes from Jérôme Trochet, a member of Esade Alumni and vice-president of Club We, an initiative that promotes equal opportunities between men and women.

Trochet stresses the importance of his training at Esade to acquire the skills and tools necessary to build a better future.

He also values the support provided to students through scholarships that facilitate access to education at Esade.

Isabel Ferrer, EMEA Marketing Director at Mattel, Inc. also highlights the importance of understanding that business has an impact beyond the economic and it is necessary to take into account the social impact on society.

Berta Santos, Executive Coach, mentions that the values instilled during her training at Esade are still present in Esade Alumni activities.

The recognition of Gonzalo Gortázar is based on his approach to sustainability and social purpose at CaixaBank, elements he considers crucial to attracting and retaining talent.

Gortázar emphasizes that social work is a fundamental part of CaixaBank’s DNA, allocating more than 30% of profits directly to society through the “la Caixa” Foundation.

These values shared with Esade, such as commitment, responsibility and the call to social action, are what have led Gortázar to receive this recognition.
