The district of Horta-Guinardó is getting ready for a special event: the free classical music cycle that will celebrate its XXV anniversary. This event, which runs from October 5 to December 1, promises to fill the streets and public spaces with the chords of chamber music, opera and more. The idea behind this cycle is not only to offer concerts, but to bring classical music to all audiences in an accessible and attractive way, breaking with the elitist image that sometimes surrounds this genre.
A musical journey full of emotions
This year, the main theme of the cycle is emotions. It is not only about listening to music, but also about feeling it deeply. The artists, in addition to performing the pieces, will share with the audience their personal vision of the repertoire they are performing. This dynamic seeks to make the musical experience closer to the audience, so that they not only enjoy the music, but also understand it from a more intimate perspective.

The cycle will kick off on Saturday, October 5 with a traveling opera show with steampunk aesthetics. This innovative proposal, by Cia Ludovico Monk, will tour different parts of the district, surprising passers-by and setting the mood for what will be two months full of music.
Close spaces, quality music
For eight weeks, the neighborhoods of Horta-Guinardó will host a total of 15 chamber music concerts in spaces as diverse as libraries, civic centers, neighborhood houses and squares. This format not only allows music to reach everyone, but also turns usual places into unique venues for classical music. Some of the ensembles participating in this series include Trio Kórena, Cia Palau del vent and Panot Horns, among others. The variety of styles and ensembles ensures that, although classical music is the common thread, each concert has its own identity.
Classical music concerts in the Hivernacle of the Ciutadella Park
The key to this series is proximity: both for the spaces where the concerts are held and for the way in which the musicians interact with the public. In this way, it breaks with the idea that classical music only belongs to large theaters or auditoriums.
More than concerts: a complete experience
In addition to the concerts, the cycle offers complementary activities that add value to the experience. For example, on November 20, at the Horta Library, there will be a conference on emotions in opera, by the Fundació Òpera Catalunya. These types of activities seek to deepen the emotional impact of music and how composers convey feelings through their works. On November 7, at the Escola de Música Municipal Can Fargues, a music therapy workshop will be held, led by an expert in the field. This workshop is designed to explore how music can influence our emotional and mental well-being, bringing a practical dimension to the cycle.
A great end to a great celebration
The cycle will close with a grand closing concert on December 1 at the Pla de Montbau. On this occasion, the Orquestra Simfònica Tekhné, together with solo singers and an outstanding dance company, will be in charge of putting the finishing touch to this celebration. Music and dance will merge to offer a multidisciplinary show that promises to be the highlight of two months of music and emotions. This concert will not only be the perfect closing of the series, but also a sample of the local and international talent that has come together to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the event.
Music for everyone, without exception
The best thing about this series is that it is designed for all audiences. No matter the age or knowledge of classical music; the program is designed so that anyone can enjoy it. In addition, being a free event, any economic barrier is eliminated, facilitating access to culture to all residents of Horta-Guinardó. In total, there will be 19 activities ranging from concerts to workshops and conferences. The goal is clear: to make classical music part of the daily life of the district, making all neighborhoods resonate with chords that invite to feel and enjoy.
How to participate
For those interested in attending, the full schedule of the series is available at the website www.classicahg.cat. From there, tickets for the concerts can be reserved, which will also be available at the same venues where the activities will take place. The presence in social networks under the name classicahg will also allow those interested to keep abreast of all the news and changes in the program. This cycle is an example of how culture can be integrated into the life of the city in a natural and accessible way, making classical music no longer something distant but an experience shared by all.
