A route over the heights

The cable car route starts at the Parc Montjuïc station and goes to the castle without interruption. However, on the way back, there is an optional stop at the Mirador del Alcalde, concluding at Parc Montjuïc. From the cable car, passengers can enjoy panoramic views of icons such as the Sagrada Família, Camp Nou and the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. The whole city will seem to be at your feet.

Reasons to take the cable car

The cable car is not only a method of transportation; it is an experience in itself. With three stations along the way:

Parc de Montjuïc: From here, you can access numerous cultural centers, such as the Joan Miró Foundation, the National Art Museum of Catalonia and the Poble Espanyol. This is also the perfect place to relive the magic of the 1992 Olympic Games by visiting the Olympic Ring and the Olympic and Sports Museum.

Castell: This former military fortress from the 17th century has now been converted into a space for cultural events. Here you can enjoy events and one of the best views of the city.

Mirador: It offers access to a garden terrace that offers spectacular views of the port of Barcelona. In addition, here you will find the gardens of Mossèn Costa i Llobera, ideal for a stroll overlooking the sea.

How to access the cable car

Getting to the cable car is easy. The Montjuïc Funicular station takes you directly to Parc de Montjuïc. You can also get there by metro from Paral-lel station (L2 and L3) or by bus on lines 55 and 150. If you are using the Barcelona Bus Turístic, look for the Telefèric de Montjuïc stop on the red route.

A glimpse of modernity

The cable car was renovated in 2007, becoming not only a means of transportation, but a tourist attraction in its own right. The modern cabins, with capacity for eight people, allow passengers to enjoy the view of the city in motion, observing emblematic structures such as the Agbar Tower.

Tips for an unforgettable experience

To get the most out of this trip, we recommend taking the cable car at sunset. The sunsets from the heights offer a spectacle of lights and shadows that you will hardly forget. And best of all, you will be able to enjoy all this without fatigue, letting the cable car do all the work for you.
