El Prat opens a new comfort zone in Terminal T1

Since the beginning of July 2023, travelers who have been transiting through El Prat Terminal T1 have been able to access a modern comfort area, designed to provide rest and well-being while waiting for their departure flight.

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport improves the passenger experience with new amenities like this one.

This new space, located in Terminal T1, has been designed with a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach.

With long meandering benches and trees made of nature-friendly materials, this area creates the illusion of being outdoors, providing passengers with a space of relaxation and tranquility.

With a capacity to accommodate 188 people, this comfort zone complements the existing comfort zone in the same terminal.

This initiative is part of the efforts of Aena, the airport management company, to continue improving the user experience and transforming the airport into a more pleasant and comfortable place for all passengers.

With this addition, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport demonstrates its commitment to the satisfaction and well-being of its visitors.

The incorporation of these improvements is a sign of the commitment of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport to adapt to the needs of its users and to provide them with a more pleasant travel experience.

What if you travel with pets?

In addition to this new comfort zone, the airport has also taken into account those travelers traveling with their pets.

El Prat welcomes three new outdoor spaces called “pet relief” in terminals T1 and T2, designed for pets and their owners to enjoy a more pleasant stay.

These areas have artificial turf, water fountains and bollards to hold leashes, providing a suitable place for pets to rest and have fun.

Two of these areas are located in terminal T1, one on the sidewalk outside the departures area and the other on the south terrace of the boarding area.

The third is located on the exterior road between modules T2A and T2B, in addition to the existing one on the exterior terrace. This initiative is part of AENA’s effort to create a friendly and comfortable environment for all airport users.

The “pet reliefs” have artificial grass, water fountains with taps at different heights, litter garbage cans for depositions and bollards to tie leashes.

Travelers can now rest with their pets in safe and comfortable places.

If you are a passenger or travel with pets, you can now enjoy the new comfort zone.
