A.R.C.A.D.E. is a non-profit association formed by volunteers who seek to promote the machines and games used in the early stages of electronic and digital leisure, better known as “Arcade machines” and/or “pinballs”.
They have been located for more than two years in 400 square meters of premises in a warehouse in Cornellà de Llobregat. It has more than 125 members and about 65 pinball machines and more than 100 original arcade machines from the 70’s era.
These machines are used and enjoyed for non-profit purposes. They are part of the cultural heritage and an electronic entertainment tradition of yesteryear.
In addition to playing games, members can learn how to restore machines, organize workshops and tournaments, and participate in other activities.
Electronic and digital leisure at A.R.C.A.D.E.
The association’s lounge is more than just an arcade that goes beyond paying to enter, where upon entering, dreams are fulfilled.
Color, games, joy. When you enter you are transported back in time to the 70’s and 80’s to play as it was done in those days.
You will find retro games that give you joy and at the same time nostalgia and memories of the past: Pac-Man, Tetris, Street Fighter, Out Run, among many others.
The most curious thing is that all the gaming machines are original and are cared for and maintained, as well as the facilities of the place, by the volunteer members of the association.
They take care and organize everything as if it were their own home. Together they clean the facilities and the machines that belong to the association itself or to members who have donated them for the enjoyment of all.
Everyone collaborates and is an active part of the local. They even organize events and even tournaments of all kinds around the games and machines.
They receive donations through Paypal that go towards the maintenance of the machines and the expenses of the premises.
