Until February 3, the Fira de Barcelona opens its doors for the third time to Integrated Systems Europe, ISE, the largest audiovisual fair in Europe organized by the associations AVISA and CEDIA.
It is estimated that the worldwide European Community audiovisual market is made up of 3,600 companies with around 31,000 workers and a turnover of 6.7 billion euros.
Mike Blackman, director of ISE, indicated that the 2023 edition of the fair could generate an impact of between 280 and 400 million euros.
He also explained that the contract between the organization and Fira is automatically renewed for three editions until 2025, as they have been very successful in the city and consider that there is no better place to hold the fair.
King Felipe VI inaugurated the event and toured some of the exhibits along with other national and local authorities.
Europe’s largest audiovisual trade fair
The exhibition space is almost 60,000 square meters (30% more than last year), where around 1,055 exhibiting companies are present, including multinationals (such as Panasonic), local companies such as MediaPro and Catalan start-ups such as Sono.
And in fact, as can be seen at the L’Hospitalet de Llobregat venue, the 4,000 square meters of Pavilion 2 that the Audiovisual Fair occupied in 2021 for its first time in Barcelona are now behind us.
Thanks to this wonderful space, the largest stands this year will be those of Samsung (1,700 square meters), and LG Electronics (1,100 square meters).
The congress is debating the title of event of the year, against the great Mobile and aims to exceed last year’s 43,000 attendees in the Catalan capital.
For more than 10 years, the ISE was held in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital, but the need to find a strategic location with greater capacity was determined due to the growth of the event.
The organizing entities and participants hope that this 2023 edition will be truly post-pandemic and will achieve greater participation capable of attracting more companies from the United States.
According to the Government, Catalonia is the fifth territory with the most companies participating in the ISE, after the United Kingdom, China, Germany and the United States.
In fact, it is estimated that 7% more local companies will participate this year, for a total of 73.
Of the 73 companies, 21 of them are located in a pavilion of the Generalitat, so that they can find new customers, investors and greater visibility in the market.
The event welcomed attendees early in the morning with a DJ who opened the doors of the congress with his surprising and powerful music.
China’s booths have shown a thousand and one technological proposals for the audiovisual industry, including screens, microphones, speakers, devices, everything related to sound and image.
