Free exhibition on Freemasonry at the Palau Robert

The free exhibition, which will be available at the Palau Robert, Dreta de l’Eixample, until August 28, will deal with Freemasonry and its evolution over the centuries.

The exhibition is located in room 1 of the palace. It is focused on the history, particularities and characteristics of Freemasonry.

Although this philosophical institution has its roots in the eleventh century, it developed in all its splendor from the eighteenth century onwards.

In fact, some of its main representatives have been illustrious personalities of our country that you will be able to meet in the exhibition.

It also shows the most controversial aspects of Freemasonry and its evolution over time around the world.

The exhibition has been promoted by the General Directorate of Diffusion and curated by journalist Enric Calpena.

It has also benefited from the advice of knowledgeable experts linked to Freemasonry. Among them, Josep Brunet, Mason and patron of the Arús Library, founded by Rossend Arús.

Arús was a historian of the Catalan Freemasonry of the 19th century.

In Spain, after the approval of the 1978 Constitution, it was possible to legalize Freemasonry on May 19, 1979. This was done by means of a ruling of the Administrative Chamber of the National Court of Appeals.
