Catalan gastronomy continues to be one of the most recognized and appreciated throughout the world. Recently, the Repsol Guide 2023 awarded 11 Catalan restaurants with its prestigious suns, highlighting the strength of their proposals and their brand.
Among the most awarded restaurants in Catalonia are Bo.Tic, in Corçà, and Castell Peralada, in Peralada, both with two suns each.
These two establishments were recognized for their efforts to promote Catalan cuisine by giving it a new form and for innovating with the recipe book of Empordà cuisine, respectively.

El Castell Peralada
He distinguished himself for his exquisite Empordà cuisine, where he achieved the perfect combination of homemade dishes, fish suquets and classic recipes.
The Castell de Peralada restaurant is located in the Alt Empordà region and was awarded two suns in the Repsol Guide 2023.
With an exquisite decoration and a kitchen led by Javi Martínez, the restaurant offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional recipes of Empordà cuisine.
It also has an impressive wine list managed by the head waiter and sommelier Toni Gerez.

Bo.Tic, on the other hand, is a restaurant located in a restored space that was formerly a carriage carpentry shop more than 110 years old.
Since its opening in 2007, chef Albert Sastregener and maître d’ and sommelier Cristina Torrent have worked together to thrill diners through the essence of traditional Catalan cuisine.
In its cuisine, it uses products and conception of proximity, which allows the flavors and textures to be authentic and of high quality.

But Bo.Tic and Castell Peralada were not the only restaurants awarded in Catalonia by the Repsol Guide 2023.
Another 9 Catalan restaurants were awarded one sun each: Aleia, Atempo, Come, Enigma, Granja Elena, Pur, Slow & Low, Er Estrangèr and Cuatre Molins. All of them have been recognized for their dedication and effort to offer unique and high quality gastronomic proposals.
The fact that the Repsol Guide has recognized so many Catalan restaurants in its 2023 edition is a reflection of the importance of Catalan gastronomy in the Spanish and international culinary scene.
In addition, this type of recognition is essential to promote and publicize the gastronomic offer of a region.
The Repsol Guide Suns 2023 awards gala took place in the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante. It was attended by the best chefs in Spain.
