During this weekend, the last weekend of October 2022, the interactive LEGO superstore in Passeig de Gràcia celebrates its first anniversary in Barcelona by giving away figures to its visitors.
And the celebration with their fans starts from Friday, October 28 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Saturday, October 29 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. For the first 300 visitors on each of these two days, they will receive a special free gift bag with a special small birthday set.
Among other activities and during these two days, customers will be able to meet a life-size LEGO character and help decorate a spectacular and colorful birthday cake with bricks.
For those who wish, there will also be free face painting sessions on both Friday and Saturday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, respectively.
Giving away figures, LEGO Barcelona celebrates being the largest LEGO store in Europe
The flagship store is located at number 9 Passeig de Gràcia. It has 800 square meters of surface area, of which 500 meters are for product sales and the rest is for warehousing.
This is the only one of its kind in Europe and the third in the world. The other two with similar dimensions are in New York and China. This type of flagship store includes technology, new formats and unique creations in the world.
Barcelona’s macro store
When you enter the premises, the mascots Antoni and Drago (creations that pay tribute to Antoni Gaudí and his dragon), come out to welcome customers. They are equipped with a technology that, in addition to greeting them, recommends pieces and games according to their specialization.
Animation technology has enabled these figures, such as Drago and Antoni, to talk to customers and change their facial expressions. Another of the protagonists of this large LEGO space is a woman who drives a car made from 140,000 bricks that weighs about 400 kilos. There, a tourist tour of the city is simulated, with the woman driver as a personal guide.
The most striking feature of the Barcelona store is the presence of two unique pieces in the world.
One of them is the large central tree, a symbol of Barcelona’s local wealth. It is assembling with colorful figures representing inclusion, childhood and sustainability.
The other one is a “typical Barcelona” house not made with bricks for safety.
The most recent is the incorporation of a new customization system with which it is possible to create unique pieces in the world through a machine. In this way, users can choose the clothes, hair and accessories they want for their dolls.
