L’Hospitalet de Llobregat has approved the expansion of the Gran Via 2 shopping center, a project that will be carried out thanks to an investment of 11.8 million euros by the LSGI Group.
The expansion will allow the shopping center to gain 9,133 square meters of floor space, without increasing the plot it currently occupies.
The proposal received the approval of the Municipal Plenary in March, following a specific modification of the General Metropolitan Plan (PGM).
To carry out the expansion, LSGI Group will transfer buildability from Bellvitge and les Planes, which will allow it to gain “5,000 square meters of green area”.
The project has been designed to meet the demand for larger stores from the mall’s main customers, who are looking for large-format spaces.
This expansion will be the first enlargement of Gran Via 2’s retail space since its opening in 2022.

In addition, LSGI Group’s investment will include a contribution of 4.2 million euros to public housing, which will be obligatorily earmarked by the City Council.
The operation of transferring the retail space from two properties in the Bellvitge and Les Planes neighborhoods to the Gran Via 2 plot is part of an agreement reached between LSGI Group and the City Council.
