In order to energize and revitalize the cultural sector in Spain after the pandemic and to motivate young people to enjoy culture, the Council of Ministers approved the Royal Decree that regulates the Bono Cultural Joven.
So if you turn 18 in 2022 (an estimated 500,000 people nationwide), you will be able to benefit from this assistance.
The profit is a total of 400 euros that you can distribute as follows:
- 200 euros for live arts, audiovisual arts and cultural heritage exhibitions.
- 100 euros in cultural goods in physical support (press, books, magazines, musical scores, records, DVDs, video games, CDs or Blu-ray.
- 100 euros for digital or online consumption, such as digital subscriptions to magazines, newspapers or other periodicals, subscriptions and rentals to reading or music platforms, purchase of audio books, purchase of digital books (ebooks), subscription to download multimedia files (podcasts), subscriptions to online video games. Subscriptions will be for a maximum period of 4 months.
The total amount will be delivered in a single payment through a nominal virtual prepaid card with the beneficiary’s identity.
What is not covered by the Bono Cultural Joven
The aid does not allow the purchase of curricular textbooks (digital or printed), stationery products, musical instruments, equipment, hardware, software, or electronic and computer consumables.
The Bono Cultural Joven also does not include access to sports, bullfighting, gastronomy or fashion shows. The voucher does not cover the purchase of X-rated or pornographic products.
The voucher can be used during the twelve months following its granting in order to enjoy the benefits.
