Imax will be the center for the America's Cup sailing event

The former Imax structure in Barcelona’s Port Vell has found a new purpose as an outreach center for the America’s Cup sailing competition. This initiative seeks to bring citizens and visitors closer to the excitement and history behind the oldest and most prestigious sailing competition in the world.

Through the newly opened America’s Cup Experience, the Imax has re-emerged as an interactive and educational space that explores the epic story of the America’s Cup and allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of sailing.

The America’s Cup Experience, inaugurated just a few days ago, is designed to be an immersive experience that offers visitors a complete view of the America’s Cup sailing competition.

From model boats to videos and photographs, the outreach center offers an enriching perspective on the 173-year history and 36 past editions of the competition.

The initiative aims to spread enthusiasm and awareness about the competition that will be held in Barcelona from August to October next year.

The Imax: Outreach center for the America’s Cup Sailing in Barcelona

The outreach center focuses not only on the sporting aspects of the competition, but also on its historical and cultural relevance.

The America’s Cup is a prestigious sailing competition that has captured the attention of millions of people around the world, both in person and on television.

With a private investment of seven million euros, the former Imax now offers a multimedia experience that combines cutting-edge technology with interactivity, allowing visitors to learn about the innovations and achievements that have shaped the history of sailing.

The America’s Cup Experience features a series of attractions including a life-size replica of the coveted 100 Guineas silver ewer, a trophy that has been the racing goal for teams from around the world.

In addition, visitors can explore a room displaying models of the AC40 and AC75 monohulls, as well as crew suits and other items related to the competing squads. The initiative also seeks to awaken the interest of young people.

One of the most anticipated attractions of the outreach center is the incorporation of simulators of the AC75 boats, which compete in the America’s Cup sailing competition.

These simulators will provide an immersive experience that allows visitors to feel the speed and excitement of participating in a sailing regatta.

This attraction will be launched on October 5 and promises to offer a realistic experience that transports visitors to the waters where the intense competitions take place.
