More than 14 hectares of greenery and open space are what you can enjoy in the Jardí Botànic Històric.
A natural and exuberant oasis to get away from the noise and stress of the city and let yourself be carried away by nature and its freshness.
Over time and despite the growth of the city, this garden is a valuable green space that has survived over the years.
In the past, gardens were synonymous with well-being and power.
The Historical Botanical Garden
It is a hidden gem located a few meters from the Albéniz palace, in the Versailles de Montjuïc, breaking the scheme of millimetrically distributed areas.
In a beautiful corner of Montjuïc that looks like a typical English garden. Perhaps one of the few in the city as a tribute to romanticism, where the trees offer a simply majestic spectacle.
You can also enjoy exotic plants as part of the scientific origin of the place.
Undoubtedly, the seven-decade-old giant ash tree will leave you speechless.
As you continue along the route, just on the other side of the park you will find a typical farmhouse surrounded by orchards. Volunteers work in this lodge and it is a center for the organization of different activities for visitors.
While it is a great place to visit, because of pandemics it remains open, but with a capacity restricted to 500 people.
If you are going to visit, you must comply with the established sanitary measures when entering and leaving the garden.
But if you are looking for tranquility, this is the perfect place. Admission is free on Sundays from 3 p.m. onwards.
