When summer settles in, nothing sounds better than the combination of live music, a wine-growing landscape and the historical heritage of a region. Subirats offers all that and more through the eagerly awaited Festival Música a les Vinyes. This event, which is repeated every year, transforms summer nights into a show of jazz and tastings of wines and cavas from the Priorat region.
Jazz and tastings under the moon
This year, the festival reaches its 21st edition, offering three exciting proposals. The festival takes place outdoors, enjoying the best jazz while savoring the renowned local cavas and wines. All this takes place under the attentive organization and support of the Diputació de Barcelona.
The first presentation concert was last Friday, June 20th at Celler Cava Guilera. At this opening, Isabel Vinardell and Isabelle Laudenbach offered a show that mixed song, flamenco and poetry, all with a touch of Mediterranean rhythms. And, as a bonus, the event included a welcome drink and a tour of the cellar, but if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry!
Keeping pace in July
The month of July brings with it two other unmissable dates in the medieval setting of Torre-Ramona. On July 19 there is an exceptional concert with Manel Camp and Gemma Abrié, where jazz meets early music by composers such as Monteverdi, Purcell and Bach. No less expected is the swing concert on July 26 with the vibrant performance of Sara Dowling with the Ignasi Terraza Trio.
In these recitals, not only the sense of hearing will be the protagonist: each concert is accompanied by pairings of wines and champagnes from the region, along with local products that make the experience more complete.
A festival aligned with sustainable development
This event is not only a delight for the senses, but it is also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, it responds to SDG number 4 “Quality education”, and number 10, “Reducing inequalities”. The Diputació de Barcelona plays an important role in implementing these goals, showing its commitment through events that support local governments.
In conclusion, the Festival Música a les Vinyes in Subirats is not only an excuse to enjoy good music and gastronomy, but also a reflection of a local and global effort for a more sustainable future. A festival that unites the best of the environment, culture and social commitment, guaranteeing its attendees a unique and memorable experience in the region.
