Barcelona, one of Europe’s most vibrant and beautiful cities, is transformed into a post-apocalyptic setting in Netflix’s latest production. “Bird Box Barcelona” is the spin-off of the hit horror, sci-fi and thriller “Blindfolded,” which captivated audiences in 2018 with a masterful performance by award-winning actress Sandra Bullock.
The original film, directed by Susanne Bier, presented a dystopian society in which humanity was confronted by a supernatural being that induced suicide through eye contact.
Bullock played Malorie Hayes, a brave survivor struggling to find a safe haven for herself and her two children in a world where it was necessary to live blindfolded.
This time, “Bird Box Barcelona” is under the direction of the talented brothers Àlex and David Pastor, and stars the charismatic Goya Award-winning actor Mario Casas in the lead role.
