The Muelle de Levante will become a Rambla de Mar that will be open to the public. Its construction will be done quickly, as the objective is to become a viewpoint par excellence for the America’s Cup of Sailing in 2024.
The purpose is a common task between the Consell de Administració del Port de Barcelona and Marina Vela. This entity (Marina Vela) will assume the remodeling of the space in exchange for extending the management concession until 2049.
While the Rambla will be public, Marina Vela will have the concession for the private spaces. One of them is the projected building at the end of the new Rambla where a restaurant will be able to operate.
This new promenade will have public access for visitors and will complete the urbanization of the North entrance. In total, more than 10,000 meters will be made available between the Joan de Borbó promenade and the North entrance.
The work has an investment of 2.38 million euros and the goal is to be completed before the start of the 2024 America’s Sailing Cup.
The space will also serve as a base for the Barcelona Nautic Center. The new Rambla will be the best balcony to watch sporting events.
