After the last party in 2019, the Festa del ViNovell returns on December 10, 2022 to Barcelona in the gardens of the Palau Robert.
In this magnificent exhibition, the youngest wines produced this year in Catalonia and Mallorca will be tasted. It will be during the weekend that coincides with the Purísima and Constitution holidays.
While most celebrations are associated with Christmas, there is no problem for wine lovers to enjoy this special and unique holiday of the year.
It will also be a very special celebration, after two years of pandemic where the Festa del Vi Novell could not take place.
Doors to the event will be open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
In the beautiful setting of the gardens of the Palau Robert, the arrival of the first wines of the 2022 vintage will be celebrated. In other words, the first bottles will arrive on the market as a result of the grapes harvested during the recent summer harvest.
The difference compared to other young wines that are released later on the market is that the vi novell is bottled and consumed without having gone through any resting phase.
La Festa del ViNovell in Barcelona
For the 2022 edition of the Festa, the thirteen Catalan wineries that produced this type of wine this year and which belong to seven appellations of different origins will participate. Three wineries from Mallorca will join the event.
And this is due, according to the Institut Català de la Vinya i el Vi (Incavi), to the fact that vi novell is a very traditional drink both in Mallorca and in Catalonia. For this reason, the wineries are working together to make it known and stimulate its purchase.
Admission to the Festa del vi novell is free. But if you want to taste the first wines of this season you must buy a ticket for 1.5 euros or also, a pack of 8 tastings for a value of 10 euros.
If you want to accompany the wines, the event will also feature cheeses and a variety of Catalan cured meats.
The Catalan wineries present at the event are:
- Vinícola de Sarral and Vins Petxina, from DO Conca de Barberà, Carles Andreu, Josep Foraster.
- Celler de Sanuí, from DO Costers del Segre; Celler Cooperatiu d’Espolla, from DO Empordà.
- Masroig and Ronadelles wineries, from the Montsant DO.
- Covides and Maset, Celler Cooperatiu de la Granada, Penedès DO
- Celler de la DO Pla de Bages and Cooperatiu d’Artés.
