The Palau Sant Jordi, one of Barcelona’s most emblematic venues, is getting ready to welcome one of the most legendary bands in the history of British rock: The Who.
After 60 years of career, they will finally arrive in Barcelona as part of their world tour in what will be the only concert they will offer in Spain.
This visit is highly anticipated by fans, as in the past the band came close to performing in the city but ended up performing in Zaragoza.
The event will take place on June 14, 2023 and will feature the two surviving members of the original line-up: charismatic singer Roger Daltrey and talented guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend.
They will be accompanied by a band led by Zak Starkey, son of Ringo Starr, and the Vallès Symphony Orchestra.
The legendary British rock band The Who
The concert repertoire will include everything from classic tracks from their early days, when the band was known for their passion for R&B and Pop Art, to songs from their latest album “Who” released in 2019.
They are also expected to perform pieces from their acclaimed conceptual works such as “Tommy” and “Quadrophenia”, as well as big hits that brought them to the top of rock in the 1970s.
Despite Daltrey and Townshend’s advanced ages, which hover around eight decades, the concert is expected to be full of energy and genius, characteristics that have defined The Who throughout their career.
Throughout their career, the band has left an indelible mark on music history, captivating millions of fans with their unique style and powerful lyrics.
Each of the members of The Who had a distinctive personality that, despite frictions and quarrels, contributed to the creation of an unrepeatable band.
Pete Townshend was the creative genius and songwriter, while Roger Daltrey was the charismatic and precise star on stage.
Bassist John Entwistle brought his quirky style and drummer Keith Moon was known for his eccentric character and ability to tear up hotel rooms.
