Temperatures in Barcelona and Catalonia this summer 2022 have reached historic highs of up to 35 degrees Celsius at the highest points of the city.
The heat wave this year has been severe in almost all the territory, particularly in the coastal area.
Barcelona and the metropolitan area have had tropical nights, with daily lows of no less than 25°C.
Due to the orography of the Catalan capital, Barcelona is something like a kind of desert between the sea and Collserola.
As a result, very high temperatures are recorded in the center of the city due to the high humidity, accentuating the sensation of heat.
In Barcelona and Catalonia the heat has been felt strongly
In Barcelona, the highest temperatures (up to 35°C) were recorded in the neighborhoods farthest from the sea.
For example, in the Observatori Fabra or Vallcarca very high temperatures of even 35 degrees have been recorded, almost the same as in the Eixample and Raval.
As for the rest of Catalonia, the heat has hit hard.
Last August 12, six Meteocat stations broke heat records. It reached 43.6 degrees Celsius (maximum temperature) in Vinebre (Tarragona).

The temperature recorded in Vinebre so far is the highest in 2022 (43.6°C), The historical maximum in the community is 43.8 degrees in 2019 in Alcarràs (Lleida).
