“There is nothing more sincere than the love of ice cream,” reads the Rocambolesc ice cream parlor’s website. Indeed, ice cream has a lot of fans all over the world. And here in Barcelona, from the hand of master pastry chef Jordi Roca, is born this place where each ice cream is an experience for all the senses.
Because Rocambolesc ice creams are not only delicious, they are also unique. A surprise for the eyes and an enjoyment for the senses, to say the least of the particular ice creams offered by this ice cream shop in Barcelona.
Special collections
A plus of Rocambolesc ice cream parlor are the themed collections it offers: among the most outstanding and popular is the series of ice creams based on the Netflix series “Stranger Things”. The ice cream parlor reached an agreement with Netflix and gave away some 3,000 ice creams in the four ice cream parlors in Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante and Girona.
There are also ice creams with shapes that are capable of surprising the most serious: from a popsicle in the shape of a big nose, to a Darth Vader head, suitable for fans of the Star Wars saga.
The flavors of Rocambolesc ice cream parlor
Rocambolesc ice creams are, to say the least, unique. If you ask for a chocolate ice cream, it will bring chocolate, but in a quite original and delicious way: it has cocoa grue, peta-zetas, chocolate cookie and chocolate coating. In other words, chocolate at its best.
Another recommendation from the ice cream house is the mango, orange and carrot sorbet, especially for those who like original flavors. This one has orange and apricot cloud, caramelized sesame and melon in orange blossom osmosis. A real treat for the senses!
Among the fruity ones, the baked apple ice cream also stands out: it has caramelized apple, baked apple and butter cookies. A combination that will certainly bring back taste memories to many for sure.
Not to be left behind are the pineapple and coconut sorbet or the vanilla ice cream: the latter has a delicate combination of chocolate sponge cake, cocoa sauce and caramel crunch, while the sorbet is a rock of lime, pineapple in coconut osmosis and puffed rice with dark chocolate.
If you can’t the car…
Before starting Rocambolesc ice cream parlor, its creators would have liked to recreate a dessert cart like the one at Celler de Can Roca. That is, a traveling dessert cart.
However, legal regulations did not allow them to do so, so they decided to open an ice cream parlor.
And although it may be a little scary to know the prices of this ice cream parlor located in La Rambla, 51-59 (next to the great Liceu theater), the truth is that the cheapest ice cream costs 3.95€, a popsicle 4.20€ and a panet, brioche filled with ice cream, costs 4.95€.
