With the arrival of Christmas, the Santa Lucia Fair (Fira de Santa Llúcia) also arrives in Barcelona; one of the most characteristic events in the city at this time of the year. And this year 2013, the fair started on November 30.
For those of you who are not from the city or do not know yet the Santa Lucia Fair, it is a Christmas fair that is held every year around the Cathedral of Barcelona. Here you can find a wide variety of handcrafted products typical of the Christmas season.
This ancient fair, this year will have no less than 283 stands that will be installed in the Avenida de la Catedral to offer visitors all kinds of handmade Christmas decorations. And as every year, all these stops will be distributed in four main groups:
- Nativity Scenes
Where you can find all kinds of figures and complements for the landscape of the Nativity Scene. Balls, figures, caves, lights, nativity scenes, trees… - Vegetation
In this part of the fair, the stands offer Christmas trees (natural and artificial), moss to decorate the Nativity Scene, lucky bouquets, the traditional tiós, branches… - Zambombas
All kinds of zambombas can be found here, but also tambourines and many other instruments and utensils to add joy to Christmas. - Crafts
This area is more diverse, here we can find all kinds of handmade and handcrafted products and items: decorative objects, clothing, gifts … and a host of beautiful and charming things. This is the perfect place to find a different and original gift.
