A variety of sports activities return to the Sabadell (Vallès Occidental) Festa Major, after being suspended due to the confinement.
The bike ride, the children’s gymkhana and the long-awaited bike races are back and the usual route of previous years.
The activities are organized by local organizations and the Barcelona City Council.
One of the main novelties is the Basketball Party that will take place in the Plaza de la Sardana/Fira Sabadell. It will be held on Saturday, September 3 in the afternoon with the collaboration of the city’s clubs.
The Basketball Fiesta includes:
- Inclusive basketball.
- Activities for boys and girls in this sporting discipline
- A 3×3 Tournament.
The half marathon at Sabadell’s Fiesta Mayor
It is one of the most awaited events of the Fiestas and of the city.
The half marathon will be held on September 4 on a 14Km course. The shotgun start will be at 9:00 am.
The popular and children’s competitions will be held from their usual location and following the usual route. Departure and arrival will be at Av. Sant Oleguer, right in front of the Municipal Sports Pavilion.
It is estimated that around 2,500 people will participate in the 2022 version of the marathon.
This year’s race will once again have a very supportive aspect. Those who participate must bring oil or milk at the time of picking up the bib and deliver the food in exchange for their bib. The food collected will go to the most needy families in Sant Quirze and Les Fonts.
The races are organized by the Half Marathon Sports Association, Sabadell City Council and We Run Team Vallès.
And the bike is not far behind
Another of the highlights of the program of the Sabadell Festival is the bike ride. This year it will be held on September 5 starting at 11 am.
The route sale of the Rda. de Ponent and ends up in the same place, after passing through more than 15 remaining.

Please note that there will also be handball, table tennis, soccer and volleyball activities and tournaments taking place on Saturday morning, September 3.
These activities will take place during the sports morning in the Morisques park and in Priorat street.
Registration for the different activities is open until September 1.
