It is a true sanctuary of sweets where you can find carts, sculptures, Gaudi’s church, all in chocolate. These and many other sculptures can be seen at the Chocolate Museum in Barcelona.
When you go to the museum, you will be greeted by “Snowy” a huge white chocolate ape along with a chocolate bar that is part of the entrance.
While you are tasting this delicious treat, you can walk through the enclosure to appreciate the beautiful sculptures made of chocolate and that remain protected by glass. Well, it is better to avoid the temptation of visitors to take a good bite.
Most of the works are very representative of Spanish architecture, particularly those of the master Gaudí. Among them, the basilica of the Sagrada Familia and creatures of Parc Güell.
There are also sculptures of cultural icons such as Louis Armstrong or Minnie Mouse, among others.
The Chocolate Museum in Barcelona
This beautiful place integrates some of the history of chocolate with a Spanish touch.
Chocolate in the form of cocoa beans first landed in Europe 500 years ago. When he returned to Spain, Hernán Cortés and his conquistadors brought with them the much-appreciated treat after plundering the Mayan and Aztec empires of Central America.
In honor of this exquisite journey, the Confectioners Guild of Barcelona launched the Chocolate Museum to tell the story of this sweet and its modernization.
The museum integrates a general trajectory of the evolution of chocolate with modern innovation.
