Street shows return for Christmas and New Year's Eve

Barcelona gradually seeks to recover the light and the illusion. For this reason, street performances have already begun in the city for the festivities of the rest of the year.

To this end, the Barcelona City Council and Mayor Ada Colau, seek to make this year’s “Christmas of illusion” possible.

Under this campaign, different shows will be held in the streets of the city with events featuring more than 300 artists.

The main stage for the artistic exhibitions will be the Plaça de Catalunya and then they will be presented in the 10 districts of the city.

The New Year’s Eve celebration on Avenida Maria Cristina, as well as the Three Wise Men parade, events suspended due to the pandemic, are back.

The shows will not have capacity control, as long as the epidemiological situation remains as at present.

Other street shows

On Avenida María Cristina there will also be color, music, fireworks, magical characters and high-impact projections, but no New Year’s Eve party.

Regarding the parade, the mayor indicated that the Three Kings will arrive as is traditional every year on January 5 at the Moll de la Fusta with the pailebot Santa Eulalia.

From the City Council they extend to everyone the message of a Christmas to reconnect with loved ones.

In the Universitat square there will also be a show with the installation of the proposal Bons Nadals.

The exhibition includes interactive architecture by the Domestic Data Streamers studio that seeks to encourage the creation of Christmas stories by integrating the pedestrians of the place.
