In vibrant Barcelona, where historic architecture and modernity converge, lies a neoclassical treasure that has left its mark on Catalan history: the Taller Masriera.
Located on Bailén Street, next to Tetuán Square, this building, designed in 1882 by architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas, is a monument to elegance and craftsmanship opens its doors.
The Taller Masriera, built as a workshop for painters and sculptors, follows a neoclassical style that makes it a Cultural Asset of Local Interest, according to the Barcelona Heritage Protection Catalogue.
With an emblematic façade, defined at the time as a “temple of art”, the building comprises a first floor, two upper floors and a basement, with a built area of 1,861 square meters.
Although the building is now disused and in a state of disrepair, its rich history and distinctive architecture make it a must-see destination for those wishing to immerse themselves in Barcelona’s past.
