Terra i Gust offers dishes at 5 euros in Ciutadella

The sustainable food festival “Terra i Gust” returns with its fourth edition. It will be held from Friday, September 20 from 20:00 to 22:30 hours. On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September can be enjoyed from 12:00 to 22:30 hours. This event has established itself as a key event to enjoy food, music and drink in a more conscious and responsible way. Attendees will be able to enjoy a varied proposal of dishes at 5 euros. All this promoting a more sustainable future, with a special focus on supporting the peasantry and local products. The fair seeks to benefit people, territories and the planet.

Land and TasteLand and Taste

In this edition, the central themes will be the reduction of food waste, sustainable fishing and conscious consumption of water. Throughout the event, attendees will be able to participate in various activities such as tastings, showcookings, workshops, awards, concerts, and other experiences that invite reflection on how to improve the relationship with food.

The Parc de la Ciutadella will once again host the fair, organized by the Barcelona City Council in collaboration with Slow Food Barcelona and the Association of Gastronomy and Tourism (AGT). As usual, there will be the participation of 14 local restaurants that are committed to sustainable, responsible and local gastronomy. Some of the outstanding participants are Assalto Bar de Vins, Bacaro, Bistrot Levante, Casa Xica, El Celler del Nou Priorat, and more. In particular, the Moroccan restaurant Diamond de Sant Boi will join the fair, representing this year’s guest city, Casablanca, as part of the Festa de la Mercè.

Dishes at 5 euros

One of the great attractions of the fair will be the gastronomic offer based on organic, local and seasonal products. Each restaurant will prepare two dishes for a price of 5 euros each, while drinks will be priced at 2.5 euros. Among the drinks, attendees will find craft beers provided by the Barcelona Beer Festival (BBF), natural wines from wineries such as L’Olivera and Rabassaires, and non-alcoholic options such as organic kombucha from Lov Kombucha.

For those who enjoy desserts, the fair will feature seasonal artisanal ice cream from Delacrem and specialty coffee from The Milk & Coffee. The novelty is that it is served from a coffee bicycle, a distinctive and ecological touch.

One of the most important aspects of “Terra i Gust” is its commitment to social sustainability. In this line, the fair collaborates with social inclusion projects and will employ staff from catering schools that work with groups at risk of social exclusion. Among the collaborating entities is Mescladís, a benchmark in Barcelona in terms of social cohesion and training for job placement.

Small farmers’ market

The small producers’ market will also be an essential part of the fair, with a variety of options such as Pinullet Queseria Urbana, VÄCKA, Casanovas Cansaladers, Nomdonalagana jams, Organic Africa Chocolate and FORNO BOMBA. These local producers reinforce the connection between gastronomy and the community, highlighting the importance of consuming local and responsibly produced products.

In addition to the gastronomic offerings, the fair will feature a series of talks and workshops focused on sustainability, organized in the l’Aula de Cuina space. Visitors will be able to learn about sustainable practices, reducing food waste, and how responsible food consumption can have a positive impact on the environment and health.

One of the hallmarks of “Terra i Gust” is the publication of its Sustainability Manifesto, a document that reflects the values and commitments of the event with the care of the planet. Detailed information will also be provided on the producers, allergens present in the dishes and the environmental impact of each recipe, thanks to the specialized tool Calcuteca. This transparent and educational approach aims to make attendees aware of the impact of their food choices and encourage more responsible consumption.

In short, “Terra i Gust” is much more than a gastronomic fair. It is a celebration of conscious eating and a space to promote change towards a fairer, more sustainable and environmentally friendly food system. Through the combination of gastronomy, education and sustainability, the event seeks to inspire attendees to adopt healthier eating habits and support local produce, contributing to the well-being of people and the planet.
