The Fira Mercat de Mercats returns to Plaça de Catalunya from October 18 to 20, bringing with it the best selection of fresh and local products, as well as a rich gastronomic offer. In its thirteenth edition, this event continues to consolidate itself as a celebration of Barcelona’s gastronomic culture and local markets.

In addition, the fair will have a restaurant area where you can taste tapas from different restaurants, many of them representatives of the city’s markets. From a seafood fideuá to a pork bao, the options are diverse and promise to surprise all palates.
Activities for all audiences
During the three days of the fair, attendees will be able to participate in more than twenty activities, including workshops, talks and showcookings. Michelin-starred chefs such as Jordi Artal and Yoshikazu Suto will offer live culinary demonstrations, showcasing their techniques and gastronomic knowledge. These showcookings allow visitors to learn from the best and enjoy the culinary art at its best. In addition, activities have been organized for children, such as workshops on healthy eating, sustainability and the ecological footprint of food. These initiatives seek to raise awareness among youngsters about the importance of responsible eating and the impact of our purchasing decisions. The “Creix amb el Peix” workshop is one of the highlights, where children will learn about Mediterranean fish species and the benefits of fish consumption, promoting a diet rich in fresh and local products.

Once again this year, the fair will have a space dedicated to local products, where attendees will be able to learn about and taste handmade products produced in Catalonia. The Fira Mercat de Mercats 2024 is part of the program of the Cultural Regatta, an event promoted by the Barcelona City Council in the framework of the America’s Cup sailing competition. During the days of the fair, the regattas will be broadcast live on a giant screen installed in Plaça de Catalunya, offering attendees a complete experience that combines gastronomy and sport. In addition, live music will be one of the main protagonists of the event, with daily performances that will enliven the fair.
