According to the real estate portal “Idealista”, 11.6% of luxury homes in Spain are available for sale in Barcelona.
The Catalan capital is one of the Spanish cities with 11.6% of luxury complexes of more than one million euros for sale.
According to more extensive data from the real estate portal, the total percentage of the country’s luxury housing market is 69%, equivalent to 40,295 homes.
These properties with costs in excess of one million euros are concentrated in the provinces of:
- Malaga with 23.3% of the total
- Balearic Islands with 22.1%.
- the Community of Madrid with 11.8%.
- Barcelona with 11.6%.
- Alicante with 10.6%.
- Girona with 5.5%.
The most expensive luxury home in Spain is located in Plaça Francesc Macià in Barcelona.
Beyond luxury homes in Barcelona: the ultra-luxury ones
There is a higher category within the luxury housing market and these are the ultra-luxury homes. These properties can cost more than three million euros.
Idealista reports that homes in this category total 7,775 properties. Most of them are in Malaga (2,895) and account for 37.2% of the total.
It is followed by the Balearic Islands with 32.1%; Madrid with 9.6%; Barcelona with 5.6%; Alicante with 5.5% and finally Girona with 2.8%.
For its part, Palencia is the Spanish province with the least number of luxury housing ads published on the Idealista platform.
The offer in this type of market is varied in design, infrastructure and prices. The minimum value is 1 million euros.
