The Obamas and the Spielbergs in Barcelona
The visit to the Picasso Museum was just one of the activities that were part of their itinerary in Barcelona.
Previously, Barack Obama, former president of the United States, and Steven Spielberg, together with their respective wives, had the opportunity to visit the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat, located in the province of Barcelona.
This visit took place after attending Bruce Springsteen’s first concert in the city.
The arrival of the four illustrious visitors to the monastery of Montserrat generated great expectation and required a large security cordon.
They were received by the abbot, Manel Gasch, and the prior, Bernat Juliol, before entering the church.
During their visit, they had the opportunity to admire the image of the Virgin of Montserrat, patron saint of Barcelona, and signed the book of honor as a token of their visit to the monastery.
Afterwards, they enjoyed a ride on the Sant Joan funicular, which allowed them to appreciate the panoramic beauty of the mountain of Montserrat.
Finally, they went to a nearby restaurant to enjoy lunch.
This outstanding visit is part of Bruce Springsteen’s European tour, who offered a second concert in Barcelona.
At its first presentation on Friday, April 28, the Obamas and the Spielbergs were present as part of its audience.
In fact, during the concert Michelle Obama surprised everyone by performing as a backup singer.

This visit to the Picasso Museum adds to the series of cultural activities that the Obamas and the Spielbergs carried out during their stay in Barcelona.
They also had the opportunity to explore the Moco Museum, where modern and contemporary art is on display, as well as the famous Sagrada Familia basilica.
