Tim Burton himself has been spotted walking the streets of Barcelona, exploring its architectural wonders and immersing himself in its unique atmosphere. The American filmmaker, known for iconic films such as “Scissorhands” and “Nightmare Before Christmas”, has been enthusiastically received by his fans in Barcelona.

He toured the city during the opening of his immersive exhibition “Tim Burton’s Labyrinth” at the Palau Victoria Eugenia in Montjuic.

This captivating experience offers fans of the filmmaker the opportunity to immerse themselves in a labyrinth of 200 original sketches that capture the unique essence of his imagery.

During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, dozens of fans gathered at Montjuic to get an autograph and capture a moment with their idol.

However, Burton’s trip to Barcelona was not only limited to the official event, but he also ventured out to explore the city’s cultural treasures.

One of the highlights of Burton’s itinerary was the Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi’s architectural masterpiece. Impressed by the interplay of color and light in this iconic monument, Burton expressed his admiration for the work of the famous Catalan architect.

In his own words, “The color and light of Gaudi’s work is very inspiring, no matter if you are a tourist, an artist, religious or not, it is beautiful and I am happy to be here because I am very inspired by this environment.”

But Burton’s visit did not stop there. He also had the opportunity to explore the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, another architectural treasure of Barcelona that captivated his attention. These enriching experiences have left a lasting impression on Burton, who has found inspiration in the city’s cultural and artistic richness.

Although the exhibition has made use of technology to create immersive environments, Burton has maintained a focus on the analog by combining his original sketches with handcrafted sets and sculptures.

The official opening of the exhibition was attended by prominent personalities, including the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, and local celebrities such as the illusionist Mago Pop and comedian Andreu Buenafuente.
