The city has hosted for the first time the International Nightlife Congress and has left an indelible mark by seeing two of its nightclubs, Shôko and Opium Mar, ranked in the Top 10 of the best nightclubs in the world in the prestigious list ‘The World’s 100 Best Clubs 2023’.
In this way, and in a night of dazzling celebration at the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, Barcelona reaffirmed its position as one of the cities with the most vibrant and exciting nightlife scene in the world.
This recognition consolidates Barcelona’s position on the global nightlife map and highlights the quality of its establishments.
Barcelona dominates the World Top 10
Barcelona has not only conquered the hearts of local night owls, but has also attracted international attention with a total of 9 establishments classified in the world list of the hundred best clubs.
This feat is part of a dozen Catalan restaurants that have made their mark on this year’s list. Barcelona is making its mark on the global nightlife scene.
Gala evening and awards at the Golden Moon Awards 2023
The revelation of these results took place during the Golden Moon Awards party, considered the ‘Oscars’ of the night, with statuettes inspired this year by Joan Miró.
The gala, which took place at the luxurious Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, was followed by a lively party at Shöko, the city’s top-ranked nightclub.
This place not only stands out for its position in the ranking, but also for being the place where the most expensive VIP bottles in the city are dispatched, some reaching the staggering figure of up to 100,000 euros.
Hï Ibiza is crowned for the fourth time in a row
The title of best club in the world, for the fourth consecutive edition, has gone to Hï Ibiza, inaugurated in 2017 in the space formerly occupied by the legendary Space.
Its reputation is based on being “the club with the best sound and lighting in the world and having an unparalleled program featuring the best DJs,” according to the International Nightlife Association, organizer of the event.
Hï Ibiza is followed by Omnia Las Vegas (USA) and Ushuaïa Ibiza in second and third place, respectively. Bootshaus in Germany and Shôko Barcelona are in fifth position, completing the top 10.
Catalonia’s impact on the global nightlife scene is reflected in the presence of other Catalan clubs featured in the Top 100 list. Bling Bling Barcelona is ranked 15th, followed by Sutton Barcelona in 20th place.
Sala Apolo/Nitsa Club is ranked 39th, while Razzmatazz is ranked 59th. Pacha Barcelona, Input High Fidelity Dance Club and Carpe Diem Lounge Club are ranked 79th, 85th and 97th, respectively.
