Veritas inaugurates new store in Arenys de Mar (Maresme)

Veritas, the organic supermarket chain, continues its growth strategy with the opening of larger stores. Recently, they have opened a new store in Arenys de Mar (Maresme) with almost 400 square meters of sales room and parking.

This store, built from the ground up, is an example of the “stand-alone” format the company is looking to expand.

Veritas’ goal is to open 20 stores in the next three years, which will enable them to reach 100 outlets by the end of 2025. These new stores will be between 500 and 800 square meters and will have parking facilities.

Veritas currently has a network of 79 supermarkets, having closed three stores last year because they did not fit the new business model.

During the same period, one opening was carried out and nine stores were refurbished, with an investment of 1.7 million euros.

The company, a pioneer in the sale of organic products in Spain, has experienced a growth of 5.1% in 2022, reaching a turnover of 113 million euros.

However, it also highlights the significant increase in supply costs, which have shot up 92%. Despite this, Veritas has made an effort to contain prices to avoid passing on all cost growth to its customers.

Veritas is growing solidly and steadily

Silvio Elías, president of Veritas, emphasizes that the company continues with solid and sustained growth and the expansion strategy through 2025 demonstrates confidence in the company’s growth potential and its ability to lead the market.

Since its founding in 2002 by the Elias family, Veritas has had the vision of democratizing access to organic food and considers itself a transformative company.

In addition to Catalonia and Valencia, where Ecorganic stores acquired by Veritas also operate, the chain is present in the Basque Country, the Balearic Islands, Madrid and Andorra, as well as having an online store.

Veritas is distinguished by its commitment to generating business, improving the health of people and the planet.

It was the first European supermarket chain to receive BCorp certification, which recognizes companies that have a positive impact on society and the environment. Veritas currently employs 800 people.

Your logistics center

The company has a logistics platform of 10,000 square meters in Lliçà d’Amunt, where its bakery and kitchen for the preparation of ready meals is located.

This logistics center also manages online orders and supplies the Veritas Eco Food Service division, which specializes in supplying organic food to the hotel and catering sector.

The organic supermarket chain seeks to democratize access to organic products in Spain.
