Barcelona celebrates the 25th anniversary of Articket, a group composed of the city’s six major art museums. To commemorate this milestone, Articket has launched the museum passport that allows visitors to access the six museums for a year for only 38€, eliminating queues.
It is an excellent opportunity to give or treat yourself to art during the holiday season.
The six museums included in Articket are the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, MACBA, Fundació Joan Miró, CCCB, Fundació Antoni Tàpies and the Museu Picasso.
This passport not only offers the opportunity to explore the permanent exhibitions, but also the temporary ones, providing a complete experience of the artistic richness of Barcelona.
Art in Barcelona is as diverse as it is captivating, and the ArticketBCN passport reflects this diversity, ranging from Romanesque to Modernism, passing through the avant-garde and the most contemporary expressions.
It is a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the universes of internationally renowned artists such as Picasso, Miró and Tàpies. Each museum visited will stamp the passport, a tangible testimony of a unique artistic journey.
Articket’s museum passport
This year, all participating museums have exceptional programming. From the tribute to ‘Miró-Picasso’ at the Fundació Joan Miró and the Museu Picasso to Mari Chordà’s exhibition at MACBA, which addresses themes such as the body, pregnancy and motherhood.
MNAC focuses on the past with ‘What humanity? The human figure after the war (1940-1966)’, while the CCCB looks to the future with ‘AI: Artificial Intelligence’.
Articket also offers free guided tours in April 2024 to discover the most unknown corners of the six museums. A unique opportunity to explore secret places around MNAC, MACBA, Fundació Joan Miró, CCCB, Fundació Antoni Tàpies and Museu Picasso.
A highlight of Articket’s initiative is the offer of free passports for 25 year olds and under 16 year olds. If you are 25 years old or were born in 1998 and live in Catalonia, you can obtain your passport free of charge by presenting your ID card or passport at any of the six museums.
Culture for the little ones
Children under the age of sixteen can also take advantage of this offer when accompanied by an adult with an Articket passport. They will receive a Boarding Pass where they will be able to accumulate stamps from the museums visited, just like adults.
In addition, Articket presents a special collaboration with La Mandanga, who has designed a fun, limited edition cover. It is available free of charge with the purchase of an Articket passport from December 1, 2023 to January 8, 2024.
This year’s campaign is themed ‘I love Articket’, featuring a creative approach with messages such as ‘I love visiting the best museums instead of looking for a place on a crowded beach’.
