The vibrant spirit of diversity and inclusion will once again shine through the streets of Barcelona on May 18, 2024, when the city will be filled with joy and celebration to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the LGTBI Center.

With a program full of exciting activities and spectacular performances, the big LGTBI party promises to be an unforgettable event for people of all ages and sexual orientations.

Plaza Catalunya: the heart of the city of Barcelona

The LGTBI Center of Barcelona, which has been a beacon of support, guidance and community action for the past five years, will celebrate its anniversary with a party full of shows, activities and music in Plaza Catalunya.

This event, which coincides with the International Day against LGTBI-phobia, will be a celebration of love, diversity and inclusion that promotes equal rights for all.

The festive day will begin in the morning, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, with a variety of activities for all ages.

At the LGTBI Center’s headquarters and on Comte Borrell street, visitors will be able to enjoy a special talk show presented by Kobra Kuir, a theater show entitled “Free fall for people with vertigo” by the Bragacadavra company, and an art market curated by Andreu Llorca, which will offer a selection of jewelry, ceramics, textiles and illustrations.

In addition, there will be space for the little ones with a care and play area provided by Petita Arcàdia, while Missex will offer a cumbia music session to liven up the morning.

Inside the LGTBI Center, visitors will be able to participate in children’s storytelling workshops, performative talks, and explore audiovisual installations that address themes of memory, nostalgia and resistance.

In the afternoon, the party will move to Plaza Catalunya, where a large outdoor stage will be set up for a series of exciting musical performances. Starting at 6:00 pm, the Barcelona Rainbow Singers and Barcelona Gay Men’s Chorus will delight the audience with their vocal talent.

Then, artists such as Jim, LLUM and The voguing Sm4ck Down by Jayce will offer a vibrant show full of experimental pop music, underground electronica and breakcore.

The evening will culminate with a series of DJ sets by Chico Blanco, Oro Jondo and Deena Abdelwahed, offering a wide range of musical styles, from 90’s house to experimental electronica.

With innovative and eclectic proposals, these DJs promise to keep the energy high and the dance floor full until the wee hours of the morning.
