BCore Barcelona will give away free CDs for online orders or purchases in the physical store.

Barcelona’s iconic music store BCore, located at 25 Montmany Street in Gràcia, is embarking on a unique initiative to save part of its CD archive.

BCore officials have announced that they will be giving away CDs with every online order and physical store purchase in an effort to prevent the destruction of a portion of their valuable archive.

This generous act stems from the need for space, and although the store’s managers regret having to get rid of some of their CDs accumulated over the years, they have come up with a creative solution.

Through an appeal on the social network X, they invite music lovers to purchase these CDs for free.

CDs will be given away at BCore

The message transmitted through social networks states: “The time has come, we need space and although it hurts us, we will have to destroy an important part of the CDs accumulated during all these years”. However, music lovers have the opportunity to avoid this loss.

The offer is clear: all online orders and purchases in the physical store will be rewarded with a free CD.

Among the works available are rarities and finds from artists such as Penny Cocks, Prats, Suzy & Los Quattro, Salvaje Montoya and Pupille, among others. These works represent part of BCore’s physical background and stand out for their uniqueness.

Randomly distributed CDs

Buyers have the option to indicate their musical preferences in the order comments, although it is noted that the CDs will be distributed randomly.

Through their Instagram account, the store’s managers have specified that they do not give away all BCore CDs, as some customers have requested more current materials or from active bands.

Most of the CDs on offer are from older eras or lesser-known bands, but they have stressed that among them are real gems, as can be seen in the photos shared.

An opportunity for CD lovers

BCore’s initiative represents not only an opportunity to acquire free CDs, but also a way to preserve the musical history encapsulated in these physical media.

For those who still have CD players at home or are lovers of the format, this is an invitation to explore new additions to your music collection. The offer is limited in time.

The dilemma of CDs in the digital age

In a context where vinyl records are experiencing a resurgence, the popularity of CDs has declined dramatically, eclipsed by streaming music.

According to recent reports, more vinyl records than CDs were sold in Spain in 2023, marking a significant milestone.
