Music in our lives and in Jordi’s in particular.
During the conversation, the guest reminds us that
“already in the mother’s womb we listen to music”.
. That’s why he stresses its importance in our day; “
music never fails us”.
as well as the effect it has if we practice “conscious listening”.

The life of our guest has been, for the most part, linked to music. In the family environment and later as director of the magazine Batonga, although he also worked in magazines such as Integral, Altaïr or Ajoblanco.
Diobar and the future of the sector
Urpí also highlighted the importance of supporting small venues at a time when many live music venues in Barcelona are closing or facing problems, such as Sidecar, Milano, Heliogàbal, among others.
In his experience, managing a hall such as the Diobar requires dedication and vocation, as it is not always easy to keep it running without adequate support from institutions and the community. He calls for more support to ensure that venues like the Diobar can continue to provide a platform for local and international musicians.
In short, the Diobar, under the direction of Jordi Urpí and his team, continues to be a benchmark for live music in Barcelona. With its diverse programming and dedication to the music community, this venue not only offers quality entertainment, but also plays a crucial role in the preservation and promotion of local music culture.
