Currently, in most of the menu menus, tatar appears as one of the star dishes. This great gastronomic proposal is characterized by the particular way in which raw meat or fish is prepared. Well, you can taste this delicacy at La Tartarería, a restaurant where you can try many varieties of tartar.
Its enterprising owners always had the idea of doing something original and different. Tere, head waitress and Pedro, chef of the Tartarería, studied and verified that in other parts of Europe and in Barcelona itself, there were not many places specialized in raw food. Faced with this lack, they decided to give life to the restaurant with a defined and transparent concept.
La Tartarería and Tartar
After many years of research, they were convinced that tartar, being such a specialized product and allowing the creation of different varieties, could be excellent to start their project in a store in the Eixample.
The issue was that since the tartars are based on raw food, which is not very appealing to people, they needed a place where this food would be accepted.
Its objective is to promote a new culture of cuisine worked with care, dedication and quality. It is complemented by a warm and welcoming atmosphere and an open kitchen where it is possible to appreciate the process of each creation by the chef himself.
The menu of La Tartarería
Going beyond the traditional and well-known, in this unique restaurant you will find several options. These include bluefine tuna tartar with crispy rice, scallop tartar with passion fruit aguachile or the unique smoked beef tartar with potato waffle.
You can also enjoy an executive menu that weekly offers different options at noon. At this time you can taste the appetizing beef tartare bikini with low-temperature egg yolk and truffle, white fish tartare with coconut and lime, among other innovative alternatives.
Although the specialty of the house are the raw food dishes, in the Tartarería you can also taste several alternatives of cooked dishes. Among them grilled octopus, grilled Iberian prey or a delicious ceps and eggplant tartar, perfect for vegetarians.
And what to talk about the desserts. If there are novelties in the main courses, there are exquisite proposals in the desserts. Such as pineapple tartar with coconut mousse and yogurt ice cream or a churro with meringue milk ice cream. It really is the perfect combination to close a good meal with a golden crown.
