This New Year’s Eve, in Barcelona, is special. The city celebrates for the first time its own particular New Year’s Eve at the Magic Fountain of Montjuic.
The city has set out to make New Year’s Eve another icon of Barcelona, following the example of other major cities such as Sydney and New York, which have managed to make New Year’s Eve a tourist attraction… and has already set to work to achieve this by organizing a unique celebration.
The venue chosen for the celebration of this great festival organized by Tourism of Barcelona in collaboration with the City Council, the Chamber of Commerce, Movistar, Fira de Barcelona and the hotel guild, is the Avenida Maria Cristina and the Magic Fountain of Montjuic.
The New Year’s Eve Party will start at 11.30 p.m. with the performance of L’home del mil-lenni and many other musical proposals. But this is a special and different party in every way, here there will be, for example, no clock to accompany the Camapanadas, as usual; the chimes will be followed through a live connection with TV3 (the Catalan regional television).
The idea is to achieve with this celebration that the New Year’s Eve in Barcelona turns around the world through television broadcasts. But despite this it has been planned as an event for all audiences and is expected to end early, around 00.30 hours.
If you still don’t have a plan for New Year’s Eve, Montjuic is a great option.
